Women’s Morning Tea

A FREE Women’s Morning Tea is held at approximately 10-12 week intervals to enable fellowship and to hear interesting speakers. It is sponsored by the Dromana Women’s Christian Group – an initiative of the Women’s Ministry at St. Mark’s.

The next one will be held on May 14 at 10am when the speakers will be Stephen Mbobo – Global CEO/International Team Leader African Enterprise and Jeff Andrews –  co-founder and director of Ignite, a not for profit organisation working with ‘at risk’ young people.

Stephen Mbobo.
Stephen was born in Eastern Kenya and surrendered his life to Christ in high school and began a life long journey of faith. Attended Daystar University in Nairobi joined African Enterprise in 1992 was where he served as Youth Coordinator and Missions Coordinator. He has a PHD in Intercultural studies where he focused on the values and motivations of leadership amongst politicians.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters in Christian Ministries from Nairobi international school of Theology.
His wife Rosemary volunteers alongside her husband in the work of African Enterprise and is also Lecturer and Dean at the Africa  International University, Kenya. Stephen has been involved in the South Sudan reconciliation process.
His vision is to see a prayer breakfast movement started in every country on the African continent and to see the church established in every parliament (with prayer groups). He is part of a weekly prayer group that meets in Karen, Nairobi at the Vice-President’s residence.

Jeff Andrews
Jeff is the co-founder and director of Ignite, a not for profit organisation working with ‘at risk’ young people.  He has had 20 years of youth work experience (church and secondary schools work). He believes the greatest missing link in youth work today, is recreating a contemporary rite of passage alongside community members as mentors.
Jeff is married and his passion and priority is raising his own two children.

The last Morning Tea was held in February  when the speakers were Heather Barton AM and our own Dianne. Heather spoke on her passion for helping young people reach their potential, in particular on her work with Seawinds Community Hub where she is CEO and Dianne told the group about her journey in Christian ministry.
